The objective was clear: preserve the existing heritage section of the house while eliminating the outdated renovations and introducing a home inspired by Scandinavian design principles. Throughout the sketch design phase, our exploration revolved around concepts that infused a feeling of 'lightness' and 'openness,' fostering a stronger connection to the outdoors.
The design intent is characterized by a straightforward yet expressive utilization of materials, amplifying the domestic experience. A restrained palette of natural materials plays a pivotal role in achieving a simple yet contemporary aesthetic for this family home. The result is a harmonious blend of heritage preservation and modern Scandinavian influence, creating a space that is both timeless and visually compelling.
